Why the programme exists
The programme helps children develop a habit of regular movement, fundamental motor skills and a positive attitude to sport from their first school years — without pressure to achieve results.
How schools join
The school or local authority contacts the Sport in Schools department. After requirements are checked, the schedule, venue, staff and monitoring arrangements are agreed.
Implementation support
The programme, participating schools list, activity log and contract template are available. Current updates are published in the Document Centre.
